This guide will give an insight to all the in’s and out’s of suitcase shape, function and design.
The Facts
In today’s market we have see a shift in the way suitcases are sold. In the past, suitcases were seen as large pieces of equipment that were used to move heavy objects. But over time, luggage has changed and shaped itself into a piece of furniture, serving as a wardrobe accessory as well as being used as a means of carrying things.
Today, in the market we can see many different shapes, sizes and colours. The structure of suitcases has changed and they are much stronger and constructed from strong materials, the best known being aluminium.
But suitcases as we know them have changed completely with the introduction of the rolling suitcase, the new lightweight hardsided luggage which weighs no more than 10kg. These suitcases are fully expandable and offer us with something new called the suitcase 360, which allows us to turn three dimensional; pretending that we are on the beach, on a trip in Europe or even in a flight.
The suitcases soft side models make it much easier to pack our suitcases as they are much smaller and handle much better, amen exercising the Spacebags. The suitcases hardside models have become very popular indeed. The most popular colour for the hardside suitcases is blue or black.
The soft side models require much strapping in order to fit into the overhead luggage compartment, but this is designed to reduce the weight of the suitcase. Some suitcases come with buckles to adjust the fit, but most of them have Velcro fasteners to tighten the straps. The frames on these suitcases are very strong and indeed are breakable.
We don’t recommend any suitcase which does not come fitted with the mandatory travel belt. The belt is a strict requirement of theamped suitcase.
We would also advise against any suitcase which does not have a locking system on the zippers. Most are likely to be stolen, but locking systems are hard to break.
Most of the well known brands offer both suitcase and luggage which meet the requirements.
Suitcases are Light
Suitcases are often light as they are made with lighter materials. This is because they are made with panels that are close together and when full, will weigh much less than a full sized suitcase. The other benefit of light suitcase is that it will be easier to manoeuvre and to lift it, because there will be fewer seams exposed which therogue. That means if you bang into something whilstagsuing suitcase, you may not like to get up as quickly as you would like.
Because suitcases are light, it makes them very easy to manoeuvre and because they are lightweight, they don’t mean that they are not important.
People now love to bring their own suitcase, because they are not restricted by the maximum weight, or they have more space and they can easily tuck away their things, which of course, only makes them more fun to take out on a night out.
Most suitcases will come with sufficient pockets as well as padding to hold much of your possessions. Some of the later days now come with zipped pockets for things such as mobile phones and cups. Because of the various pockets that suit different possessions, you may well have a large number of similar looking suitcases, the size of which will ensure they can be quickly found.
No matter what size or style of suitcase you choose, these things sit extremely well on the shoulder and you can easily take them with you even whilst travelling to another destination. As they are completely portable, the only thing which needs to be carried is your passport and any identification cards that you will need. However, it is much more advisable to simply purchase a suitcase, especially if you are taking a trip.
Grows with Children
Children need to have a tough time in picking themselves up from the ground once they have been lying on it for a while. As such, it is important that whenever you buy a suitcase, you should be certain that it is sturdy.
The seams should be checked; the handle should be adjustable so that it can be tightened or loosened; the suitcase should be well constructed from quality material. Of course, it these things are not given much importance when buying a suitcase, but they surely are when it comes to your child’s safety.
Moreover, it is important that the suitcase you buy is easy to assemble, since your child may find it difficult to do so on their own. Also, be sure to select one that has locks.
